A person born in the year of the Rabbit possesses one of the most fortunate of the twelve animal signs. The Rabbit, or Hare as referred to in Chinese mythology, is the emblem of longevity and is said to derive their essence from the Moon.
Full colour printed image of a Rabbit in the snow within a northern Europe winter scene. This image signifies determination (ability to survive in the harsh winter climate), a character trait of people born under Year of the Rabbit. The engraved Chinese symbol for year of the rabbit signifies an earthly branch.
The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The lunar year of the Rabbit coin is struck from 1oz of pure silver. No more than 15,000 coins will be issued by the New Zealand Mint. The coins are legal tender of the Government of Pitcairn Island.
Included is a custom moulded “Snow Paw Print” Display case, featuring a paw print of a rabbit in the snow and symbolising the Lunar Year of the Rabbit.
Each 1oz Silver Coin comes with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity issued by New Zealand Mint
