An AE Bronze from Emperor Trajan, the second in the Five Good Emperors of Rome and leading Rome to its territorial height. Featuring the bust of Trajan on the obverse and a quadriga advancing right on the reverse. This coin type is interesting because it was struck for local currency but also assumed to raise fund for a gift to Emperor Trajan after his victory over the Dacians. The countermark on the obverse of the coin is ΔAK which stands for Dacicus (Victorious over the Dacians) which was a title granted to Trajan following his victory in the Dacian War. This coin can also be dated to the years of 101/2 CE because "EN" on the reverse is a year on the Claudia-Leucas local calendar which can be converted to a modern date. A nice green patina covers the surface of the coin making it very eye appealing.
